Since 2005, Maskrosbarn has worked to improve the living conditions of the 500 000 children in Sweden with parents struggling with substance abuse, mental illness or who subject them to violence.
We offer long-term support programs and a community where children aged 13-19 get to meet others with similar experiences. We are dedicated to provide a safe and supportive environment for children to express their feelings and share experiences and help them create healthy and meaningful relationships.
All programs are free of charge for the children. We offer:
Identification is a keyword for us – therefore all staff that works in our support programs have grown up with similar conditions to the children who attend our programs.
We also work with raising awareness and advocating for the rights and needs of our target group, collaborating with professionals, authorities and other organizations.
Maskrosbarn is a politically and religiously independent association with non profit-making purpose.
”We met at the beginning of high school and it turned out that we had similar backgrounds and experiences. Together we decided to start the organization Maskrosbarn to try to ensure that no child has to face the lack of support that we experienced.”
